Elliot: I wish you didn’t have to go to school.
Me: Me too. I wish I could go to your t-ball practice with you.
Elliot: How much longer are you going to be in school?
Me: About two more years. And then I can get a job.
Elliot: But you already have a job!
Me: What is it?
Elliot: Making a wonderful home for me and Trav!
Indeed. Best job ever.
We have found the purpose in parenting, and it is this!
Look at that guy! So proud! His shirt came down to his knees but he had the biggest smile in that outfit. Today was Elliot’s first t-ball game and it was so exciting! Here are the batters lined up in number order. Elliot was number five.
All of the Elliot’s hits went straight out to right field. He ran so fast to every plate! When he was manning third base he caught two balls and threw them to first base. Wow!

He was very muddy by the end.
But the players ended the game with the standard goodwill gesture.
Isn’t it adorable how they hold their hands out the whole time?
Afterward there was a last hurrah with the coach and then snacks. We are all exhausted.
Elliot started his music class today. He was very excited! Here he is playing a ukelele. (The kid in the back is making a man.)
Now they are playing drums. Elliot is, as always, hearing the beat of a different drummer.
And this is what comes of sleeping with monkeys every night. Sooner or later this just had to happen. Can you spy the little boy?

At dinner tonight something remarkable happened. Elliot ate the homemade chicken nuggets that I made for him. It may never happen again so I’m writing it to remember fondly back to the day when he did. Also Trav explained to me the process that his food takes after he chews it. “First it goes down the pipe, then the tube, then the ant farm, then to my stomach!” I’m still laughing about that one.
We dyed Easter eggs this week!
And ate Peeps!
The Easter bunny dropped off these character themed baskets with candy inside.
Elliot ate the chocolate bunny. Yum!
Then he started an elaborate nest where he laid all the Easter eggs that we dyed.
He brought a bunny over for inspection.
Eventually the Angry Birds and a chick joined in too.
Here is what I’m most thankful for this Easter!
Another birthday month has come and gone! Thank you to everyone who made these guys’ days so special! Not only did they each celebrate being another year older this month but they were also quite sick for most of it. Everyone is feeling better now! I called this blog post Batman Brothers because they received a couple of the same Batman toys. And instead of one of them being Batman and the other Robin, they were just both Batman, and they called themselves Batman Brothers. That’s pretty good sharing, I think. They are growing up so fast and are good friends too.
Here are some pictures that we took this past month. We had a pirate-themed combo birthday party, complete with a plank to walk and a treasure chest full of booty! Enjoy!

For Elliot’s birthday his school had a special circle time for him. He walked around the sun five times with the globe and then handed out cookies. Where has the time gone?
Today Elliot asked, “Why is everything flat if the earth is round?”
… and so it begins!
Trav started a new gymnastics class today. It’s the next age group up and doesn’t require parent participation. It’s also in a new city and building. Trav got a chocolate coin at the end of class, stamps on his feet, and a lot of teacher attention. He jumped and flipped and bear crawled and monkey jumped for an hour. When Fletch got home from work I asked Trav to tell his dad about his new gym class. Trav said, “Rectangle windows.”
