Broadway Bound

Elliot’s class performed today for parents and siblings. They sang carols and shook maracas and even played kazoos to the tune of Jingle Bells. We were all mesmerized. What a talented bunch! Next stop: Broadway! Elliot is on the far left.

Here he is with his class, third from the right, second row.

After that stunning performance we met some friends for cupcakes and a train ride in Redmond.

We have more holiday spirit than you can shake a maraca at!

Christmas field trips

After we met Santa and got pictures with him, Elliot said “I told Santa I wanted a blue train but he only gave me this candy cane.” What a disappointment. To add injury to insult, Elliot fell and hit his head on a paint can when we got home and got this nasty head wound.

Trav knows you should always keep a monkey in your holster because you never know when you might need it.

Watching The Polar Express

These guys are so much fun! They have holiday spirit out the wazoo. Here we are at Gingerbread Lane.

Elliot got to run the control booth at the electric train Christmas exhibit at the Seattle Center.

Lego examination at the children’s museum.

Look! We found the catch of the day!

Holiday Offerings

We’ve been making our way through the holiday offerings in our area. One tradition I had never heard about is the Christmas Ships. The city decks out a couple of ships in lights and they drive around to the various beach areas and blast music at people on the shore who are standing around bonfires. Other people who own ships deck out their ships with lights and follow along. The kids enjoyed this activity because they got to see a bonfire for the first time and they got to stay up past their bedtimes!

We also stayed up one night to see the Garden D’Lights at the Botanic Gardens in Bellevue. Fun!

With a corncob pipe and a button nose

Here’s a craft I found on pinterest. The kids helped me stick the pieces on the door. But Elliot thought it was hilarious that I made a “Santa” hat when I should have made a
snowman” hat. Silly mom!

Here’s another funny Elliot story. He wanted to tell Fletch that we have a wreath on our door but he didn’t know what to call it. So he told Fletch “want to see what’s on our front door? It has leaves! It has food on it!”

Santa pics

Here is a picture of the picture. Actual photos will be distributed in person.

Which ornament is your favorite? I don’t know. Let’s see which is the sturdiest.
