Snow day!

Our Christmas break started a day early this year. We got about two inches of snow which made the schools cancel for the day. You know there are a lot of steep hills around here which makes it hard to drive. So the boys had a day of playing with friends and watching tv.

The best part of the day for me was when I opened a can of Campbell’s noodle soup, added water, and heated through. After giving it to the boys Trav said, “Mom, I love your cooking.” Well the noodles *were* in the shape of Mario characters. Elliot needed all of the non-noodle ingredients taken out of his soup and each bite was taken with a grimace. Can’t please everyone!

Here are some photos and videos from the day. I like the snowball fight… it’s more like a snow chunk fight. And Elliot says “That’s the best thing about a snowball fight. It’s all about having fun.”

Crafty Christmas

We’ve had the crafty Christmas spirit around here! Yesterday we made pretzel Christmas trees. The kids just wanted to eat the candies. Today we made a cardboard gingerbread house. Elliot did most of the work, focusing for over an hour! Trav pretended he was Santa who never does any work. He barked orders at “number one elf.” Let’s hope tonight’s homework goes this smoothly!

Polar bear Velcro catch

Got a new kiwi crate today. It is this box that comes once a month with all the supplies you need to make two crafts. I like not having to buy all the supplies and that the crafts are unique and fun for the kids. The directions are written in pictures so even Trav can understand the steps. This month is a polar bear Velcro ball tossing game. Funny that the ball even stuck to Elliot’s shirt!

Today Elliot asked me what is invisible but still exists. Then he gave me two answers: air and gravity. He’s 5 y’all. Last week he wanted to know how a car engine works. I have never wanted to know that myself.

Trav will not be outsmarted! He told us that his brain has its own brain and that his brain is ten feet tall!

This little bun is almost Dunn!

That’s what my shirt says in this photo. Love it! Last belly pic, I promise!
Elliot’s name pick today for the baby is Jack.
Trav likes either The Red Ninja or The Black Marble.
Elliot likes to kiss the baby every day when he leaves for school. Trav holds his hand on my belly and says “Kick your brother!” He’s ready to wrestle with the new guy.
